About
Welcome to Tulum Cantina and Grill, a vibrant gem nestled in Huntsville, Alabama. Located at 671 Martin Rd SW, this local hotspot invites you to indulge in an array of delicious Mexican and Tex-Mex flavors. With a friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere, Tulum Cantina and Grill has quickly become a beloved destination for food enthusiasts.
As a food reviewer, I was immediately drawn to their extensive menu, which features tantalizing appetizers like the 3 Amigos, a delightful mix of ground beef, Pico de Gallo, and cheese dip, perfect for sharing. Another standout choice is the Crazy Dip, composed of steak or grilled chicken, chorizo, onions, and cheese, served with warm tortillas. The bold flavors in these dishes set the stage for an unforgettable dining experience.
For those seeking comfort, the Chicken Soup shines with its homemade broth, tender chicken, and fresh Pico de Gallo, providing a warm embrace on any chilly day. The Raquel's Salad is another highlight—an enticing blend of crisp greens, grilled chicken, and creamy cheese sauce that leaves diners feeling refreshed and satisfied.
When it comes to the specialization of Tulum, the Chimichanga deserves mention. This golden fried tortilla, stuffed with juicy beef or chicken and topped with rich cheese sauce, offers a delightful crunch along with a burst of flavor from the accompanying guacamole and sour cream. Don’t miss the Enchiladas a la Mexicana either; a compelling combination of flavors wrapped in comforting tortillas.
Customer reviews echo the establishment's quality and charm. Many patrons have praised the attention to detail and the knack for perfect seasoning, which truly brings each dish to life. Whether it's the vibrant margarita flight or the hearty portions during happy hour, there’s something for everyone to love. As one regular said, “We visit here weekly,” indicating that Tulum has successfully cultivated a loyal community.
With daily specials and an inviting atmosphere, Tulum Cantina and Grill stands there as a fantastic alternative in a landscape filled with chain restaurants. I encourage you to stop by, warm up with a bowl of their savory soup, or indulge in the unforgettable Enchiladas Rancheras that have already captured the hearts (and taste buds) of many. Come for the food, stay for the ambiance, and discover why this local gem is a must-visit.
“ Update 12/23: They now do daily specials that they have listed on the window of the business. (If you are like me and like to save a few bucks where you can, I enjoy a good special!) Also, I can't get over the Enchiladas Rancheras. They are SO GOOD! I think I've got them the past 3 times I went. Can't recommend them enough! Update 9/11/23: They got rid of happy hour which makes me sad, but the food is still really good. I've given it a few tries and it's delicious! They have great salsa. Full of flavor. ( A Mexican restaurant without good salsa is no bueno.) Their happy hour is long and a great deal and the margaritas are really good on top of that! The staff has always been friendly and attentive. The food is always delicious. I'm glad to have this little locally owned place close by where I live when there seems to be nothing but chains popping up in the area. Also, their Verde sauce is delicious! Can't wait to come again! ”
“ 10000000/10. We visit here weekly. I'm not ashamed to say we know most of the servers by name. They are wonderful, and the food is very, very good! ”
“ My first time here, some local people recommended this place. I wasn’t sure what to expect but I walked in and was greeted by smiling faces. One particular person Marcus left an impression on me he had such a sweet spirit. My server was also wonderful. I ordered my favorite dish Molcajete it was fantastic and everything was cooked perfectly. But don’t take my word for it come see for yourself. Later foodies ”
“ Great Tex Mex in the local area. Huge portions. 3 lime margaritas in happy hour until 7 pm on Friday nights. Went for the Brain Blast Trivia on Friday night at 7 pm. Be sure to look up the hints before you arrive. Air conditioning seems to be struggling today. ”
“ Great authentic Mexican place to dine in with friends and loved ones. Everything we come and eat food gets better than the other big Mexican restaurant. They also got kiddie food bundles. Their food price range is between 4-20. Food 5/5 outstanding Service 5/5 friendly and approachable Atmosphere 4/5 great place The margarita flight is also a great bundle of 4 small bottle mixed margaritas for 15 ”
“ Awesome place to eat. MARCOS IS TOP NOTCH..Great guy and always had a Smile and very attentive. Had ro give him a handshake and Bro hug. The gentleman that seated us was great as well. We will be back to eat. Thanks guys we had a goood time with great food. ”
“ I will preface this review with, it has been incredibly difficult to find an authentic Mexican restaurant and being Mexican myself, I hold the standard for this food much higher than other places... And ladies and gentlemen this is it! I have come to this restaurant many times and of all the times there has not been a single bad dish! The two dishes that stand out the most are the birria queso tacos with a side of consome (broth that tacos are dipped into) and the carne asada, the reason I am leaving a review! The differentiator that makes the carne asada (skirt steak) or mestique steak as it's called on the menu great is it is put on the plancha (grilled on a flat metal plate) and then transferred onto a parrilla (grill). Giving it a unique smoky juicy flavor! I have not found a restaurant here that performs this cooking operation on a Mexican staple, until now. I recommend also asking for a lime to squeeze for added flavor! All in all, this restaurant here is the pinnacle for Mexican food here in the Madison area and encourage you, the reader, to try anything out on the menu! For desserts, they have churros, Michoacana ice cream made with real fruit, and other classics! The waiting staff is incredibly friendly, and Andres, has great recommendations if you're curious to try new things! ”
“ Got there just before 7 pm and was able to get a 3 margarita it was just the right amount of sweet and alcohol. We were served with free chips and salsa. We ordered ceviche, molcajete and a trio plate that had a tostada, enchilada and quesadilla. Both meals came with rice and beans. Everything tasted great, good portions. Ended up taking home plenty of leftovers which covered our lunch for the next day. Friendly service, we will be dining at this establishment again. ”
